Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 1 August 2026 · Applies to everyone who uses World Maratha Matrimony
This page sets out the agreement between you and World Maratha Matrimony, which runs the matrimonial service at worldmaratha.in from Pune, Maharashtra. We have written it in plain English rather than in the usual thicket, because a person deciding whom to marry should not have to hire a lawyer to read a website's terms.
Registering an account, browsing profiles or paying for a membership means you accept what follows. If any of it does not suit you, the honest answer is not to use the site.
Who may register
You must be at least 18 if you are a woman and at least 21 if you are a man, which is what the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006 requires before either of you can marry. You must also be legally free to marry: unmarried, or a widow or widower, or divorced with the decree in hand. If a divorce petition is still pending, say so on the profile. Do not create a profile while a marriage subsists — that is a criminal matter under section 494 of the Indian Penal Code, and it is the single fastest way to be removed from this site permanently.
Parents, siblings and relatives create most of the profiles here, and that is entirely normal. Two conditions: the profile must state whose account it is and who is managing it, and the person it is for must know about it and agree to it. We do not host profiles created behind somebody's back.
The service is meant for the Maratha community in India and abroad. One person may hold one profile at a time. Duplicate profiles get merged or removed.
Your profile has to be true
Age, marital status, education, occupation, income, height, health, family details, photographs — all of it must be accurate and current. Our team reviews every profile before it goes live, and we may ask you for documents, a phone call or a video call to satisfy ourselves. Photographs must be of the person the profile is for, taken recently, and yours to upload.
Getting caught out here is not a small thing. Families make life decisions on the strength of what is written on these pages. A profile we find to be false comes down, the membership ends without a refund, and if the misstatement was serious we keep a record so the same person cannot quietly register again.
How you treat other members
Use the site the way you would want your own sister or son to be treated on it.
- Talk through the site until both sides are comfortable exchanging numbers. There is no hurry.
- When someone declines your interest, that is the end of it. Do not message again, do not create a second profile to reach them, and do not approach them elsewhere.
- Never ask another member for money, a loan, an investment, a gift or help with a visa. Genuine proposals do not begin with a payment request, and this is the most common way people are cheated on matrimonial sites. Tell us the moment it happens to you.
- Do not copy, screenshot, scrape or republish another member's photographs or details anywhere, including on other matrimonial sites and in WhatsApp groups.
- Do not use the site to advertise, to recruit, to sell anything, or to run a matchmaking business of your own.
If a member behaves badly towards you, report the profile from the profile page or write to concierge@worldmaratha.in. We read every report.
Suspension and removal
We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that fails verification, that several members report with good reason, or that we have solid grounds to believe is fraudulent. A suspended profile disappears from browse, search and match suggestions.
Where the reason allows it, we will tell you what happened and give you a chance to answer. If you think a suspension is a mistake, write to us — we do reverse them. If we remove an account for fraud or for a serious misstatement, no refund is due.
Memberships, prices and payment
Registering, getting verified, completing your profile and browsing are free, and they stay free. A paid membership raises how many interests and messages you can send and lets you see other members' contact details directly.
Every plan and its price in Indian rupees is on the membership page, and the price you see there is the whole price. Taxes, where they apply, are included in the amount shown. There are no joining fees, no commission on a marriage, and no charge that appears only after you have paid. We may change plan prices from time to time; a change never affects a membership you have already bought.
Online payments are collected by Razorpay Software Private Limited and are also governed by Razorpay's own terms. You can pay by UPI, credit card, debit card, net banking or wallet. Your card and bank details are entered on Razorpay's secure page and never reach our servers; all we receive back is a payment reference. Your membership activates as soon as Razorpay confirms the payment, which is normally within a minute or two.
Where online payment is unavailable, we may record your request and settle it with you directly instead. Nothing is charged at that point and the plan does not start until the money actually clears. Cancellations and refunds are dealt with in our cancellation and refund policy, and how quickly a paid plan starts is set out in our service delivery policy. Both form part of these terms. In short: approved refunds go back to the same card, account or UPI ID within 5 to 7 working days.
Your photographs and words
What you write and upload stays yours. By putting it on the site you give us permission to store it and show it to other members, and to use it where the service needs it — inside a match suggestion, say, or in a notification email to someone who received your interest.
We do not sell your content, license it to advertisers, or put your photograph in an advertisement or a success story without asking you first and getting a yes. When you delete your profile we stop displaying it, subject to the records we are obliged to keep, which the privacy policy explains.
Our name and our software
The site, its design, its text and its code belong to us. So does the name World Maratha™ Matrimony, for which trade mark application no. 5074490 dated 04/08/2021 is pending before the Trade Marks Registry, Government of India. Please do not copy the site, reuse the name or logo, or build a competing service out of our pages.
What we do not promise
We introduce people. That is the service, and it is worth being clear about its edges. We cannot promise that you will find a match, that any particular member will reply to you, or that a proposal will end in a marriage. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of a marriage, and no member of our team is authorised to give you one.
Verification makes it far likelier that a person is who they claim to be. It is not a character reference, it cannot read anyone's intentions, and it does not replace the enquiries a family would ordinarily make before agreeing to a marriage. Please make those enquiries anyway. Meet in person, meet the family, and check what matters to you independently.
We are not a party to whatever passes between two members, on this site or off it, and we are not responsible for what a member tells you or does. The site is provided as it is; we keep it running as well as we reasonably can but cannot promise it will never be down. So far as Indian law permits, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before it arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes to these terms
We update this page occasionally. If a change is one that actually affects you, we will say so on the site or by email before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept it. The revision date at the top tells you when this page last moved.
Governing law and disputes
Indian law governs this agreement. If something goes wrong, please write to us first — very nearly everything is settled that way, and our grievance officer's details are at the foot of this page. Disputes that survive that are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Pune, Maharashtra.
